I was back out doing an #AdventureTail outing with a pup from the @fredspca, and gosh, oh gosh is Darlee a FUN girl! She’s so full of life and so full of love!

She adores nothing more than a car ride so before I could give her a lift into my high truck, she hopped right in a we were off to the park! 🛻🌳🥾

Because she’s super social, she has never met a stranger...everyone’s a friend to her! That’s why when you kiss her, she kisses you right back (scroll to the 1st video to see this, lol). 🥰💋❤️

In addition to the PROLIFIC kisses she gives, one of my favorite things is that when you pet her, she rolls right over for a belly rub and will lay there as long as you’ll keep rubbing!

She’s an active and energetic girl, so we started off our adventure by going trail running and she had no trouble at all keeping up. Then we rested and played for another hour & a half and then we went hiking.

Darlee is the ultimate adventure pal because she’s up for anything and can keep up (just remember dogs need frequent water breaks b/c they don’t sweat).

Given how much fun I had being active with her, she’d be an EXCELLENT match for an active person or family (or someone who is aspiring to be more active because she’ll make your exercise seriously FUN)!

Also, she’s a graceful runner who will pace nicely with you if you like to run, so she would make a great running companion for someone who wants to feel safe while they’re out and about. (Other people don’t need to know that she’s a lover and would just lick them head to toe, lol.) 🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏽‍♀️

I also love that because Darlee is so people-oriented, she won’t go far from you (whether on or off leash) without checking back in.

If you’re looking for a young, silly, & extremely affectionate gal, then you have GOT to meet Darlee.

She’s a great example of why I always encourage people to rescue pups instead of buy from breeders. There are absolutely tremendous pups that have lost their homes due to…

…owners dying
… owners struggling with mental & physical health
…job changes
…financial hardship
…rental restrictions
…people not spaying/neutering
…and more

I had a tremendously fun and fulfilling time out doing the #AdventureTail program with a @fredspca pup yesterday! It’s where you get to check a dog out from the shelter for a day. ❤️🐶⛰️🥾

I choose to take out a beautiful and sweet dog named Henrietta and she was such a delightful companion with whom to adventure!! She’s 5 years old, which makes her the PERFECT balance of chilled out while physically young.

She also was a mom at some point and all too often dogs get turned over to the shelter when they get pregnant and the owner isn’t ready to handle that task. That’s such a bummer for these sweet female dogs!

As you’ll see in the videos, she couldn’t be any sweeter, kinder, more gentle on a leash, more fun in the car, or more affectionate. I loved sharing treats and hugs with her.

She is just tremendous!

Would y’all adopt this gal if you could? I know that I would!

Have you ever been to a Ms Roper Romp?? If not, you’re REALLY missing out!! (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, do a quick Google search…)

They hold them in select cities across the U.S. and you’re guaranteed to laugh your way across town!

Also, who here agrees that Erin’s Ms Roper was clearly the best?? 😂🏆

Today, Erin and I went back to the SPCA of Frederi

Today, Erin and I went back to the SPCA of Fredericksburg (@fredspca) to do our second #AdventureTails outing! This is an amazing program the shelter offers where you get to take a dog out for a day to give them a break from the stress of shelter life.

This time, we brought along Erin’s sister Whitney, who is visiting town.

In honor of a beloved furry friend who Whitney recently saw across the rainbow bridge (Marla) 🐶 🌈, we choose a tremendously sweet dog, Gigi, who looked a lot like her.

After spending the day with Gigi, we all agree, she is a gem. 💎 She is so affectionate and so sweet and so well trained and so gentle!

Gigi hops in and out of a car when asked, walks perfectly on a leash (keeping slack in it), loves being pet and hugged, takes treats with gentle precision, and gives unlimited face licks to anyone she meets. ❤️

She also knows how to sit on command and play fetch. See the cute videos of her demoing this. 😊

She has clearly been well loved and trained by her past owners, so they most likely had to give her up for medical or logistical reasons, which is so heartbreaking. 🐶💔

If you happen to be looking for a “ready to go” dog to adopt who is affectionate and gentle and already well trained, Gigi could be your girl. At 10 years old, she’s sweet, relaxed, and very well behaved. She also has a fun side because she loves to go for walks, explore, and play fetch.

She’s the ultimate sweetheart and you just don’t see this caliber of dog up for adoption every day. 🤷🏻‍♂️
