What Is the Best Way to Organize Receipts for Taxes as a Freelancer?

What’s the best way to organize your receipts? Since I’ve been an entrepreneur since I was in my early 20’s and now own multiple businesses, this is a question I’ve often asked myself. Another little known fact about me is that my dad (now retired) is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), so I think a lot more about taxes than the average person.

As a freelancer, it’s vital that you save and keep track of all of your receipts. Having these receipts come tax season means you’ll be able to deduct those expenses. If you don’t have all of your receipts when it’s time for taxes, then you could be missing out on some savings.

However, saving all your receipts in a single drawer isn’t going to help you much. You need to know the best way to organize receipts to optimize your savings come tax time. What Happens If You Default on a Loan Because of the Coronavirus?

With surging numbers of Coronavirus cases worldwide, more and more people are being furloughed, laid off or asked to take paid leave with no guarantee of job stability. Increasingly, people worldwide are wondering what happens if you default on a loan because you don’t have the cash flow to pay it?

There are six possible outcomes, as described below. If you are tight on money and are defaulting on a loan, you’re not alone.

In fact, around one million people will default on their student loans this year alone, along with all of those who are defaulting on their mortgages. With the Coronavirus pandemic affecting economies worldwide, loan defaults could reach unprecedented new highs.

Given the current health and economic risks being faced by our country, it’s more important than ever to understand the consequences of defaulting on a loan.

Looking to start a business with little to no capital and worried it might take money to make money?

Well, there’s good news and bad news.

The bad: 29% of new businesses fail through lack of capital.

The good: you don’t need masses of money to get started. Simply, it doesn’t always take money to make money. Having cash from the outset is an obvious advantage. However, a lack of it shouldn’t dissuade you from giving it a shot.

Erin and I are smiling in this photo, but only a few times in my life have I been so devastated, so heartbroken, so utterly and emotionally broken. 

When this photo was taken, we had recently had to say goodbye to our dearest, move beloved baby, Percy, who we had raised since adopting him at birth. He was our cherished companion, a therapy dog, and our beloved friend. 

The last photo was taken on our very last walk ever with him. 🐾👣🥺
